老爸子和老媽子在看舊照片。。

老爸子拿了手機給我看。

老爸子: Eh, 她說這個像小時候的妳。

我: 哪裡像。我眼睛哪裡這樣大!

(quite big actually..)

老爸子: 妳 marmi 講的。。

Then.. they went to flip the old photos..

老爸子 to 老媽子: 妳看妳30年前﹐那麼不一樣。

Then I was disturbed.. COS I WAS BORN WHEN THEY GOT MARRIED!! So I popped over..

老爸子: 妳猜這個是誰?

我: nehh.. *points at mum..*

老爸子: 30年前的照片喔!

我: OII!! 我沒有30歲HORR!! =.="

Then my mum walks to the kitchen, I went to get my dinner..

老媽子: 我以前醬多人追﹐不懂排多長norr。干嘛跟個窮光蛋!? *repeats n times*

我: 誰叫你啦~ 誰叫你啦~

*Cos I'm the shotgun kid..*

Later, the mum starts suanning me..

老媽子: 妳啊。小時候笨笨的。坐在藤椅里沒東西玩也靜靜的﹐不會爬出來﹐憨憨的看阿嬤洗衣服。

我: 乖嘛。醬好養還hiam。

HAHAHA~

Its not the first time ppl say I look like/am like/is a smaller version, blah blah, of some one.

When I was in JSS, I used to have ppl mistaking me for their fren, n from then on start teasing me.

Then ppl used to think I'm an actress or something. =.="

Then now, ppl spread ard that I'm the mini-version of a fella colleague. Literally spread ard. To the extent of saying I'll be taking her place in the future. Like so embarrassing.

N my ex-boss was saying.. ya she a bit like her.. workaholic.

wahahhaha.

Books

I'm a professional book-munching worm. Although I think I dun freaking look like one.

Or do I? Cos I always come out of the salon with nerdy hairstyles.

Anyway, I've ate thru different genres of books since young. When I was in primary sch, I'll scrimp or pester ppl to buy Bookworms for me. Ya its those thin, B3-sized storybooks dat comes out every week, or fortnight, and dat costs $5. Dats like twice the cost of a manga in those days. The short stories depicts the mischievous Sam Seng, the fat Porky, the smart Smarty, the tomboy Simone, and I cant remember the rest. There's a Fatimah or Minah here, Louie there, etc etc. I have abt 50-100 of those, some of which were even plastic-ed nicely by dunno-who (shld be my mum, or my aunt, cant be me).

Every textbook-buying season is a wonderful time for me. Cos I have new books to read. Seriously, I can be so bookworm to read the textbooks. Those Weimings, and dunno wat other names.

But must remember in those days, we do not have as much holiday homework as the kids nowadays.

Then in my upper primaries, I got hooked on Famous Five while others were reading Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys. Got Julian rite, got Dick rite, cannot remember anymore. Oh! I Yahoo-ed the names. Julian, Dick, Anne, George (is a girl) and Timmy the dog. I was a librarian in those days.. no wait. How come I cant remember how the library looks like? Too long.. Too long..

Anyway, during the craze period, I aspired to read the entire collection of Famous Five (I think I din complete all but I did read most). Personally I only have 6 books of so in my cupboards cos its even more expensive than Bookworms. I borrowed the books from library (I dun think there's any other places to borrow) or from my cousin. My English was developed from all these storybooks. My Chinese seriously wasnt that great and I dun really have interest in it.

During my upper primaries oso, I started the ultimate addiction. Mangas. I still remember dropping by Leisure store at Boon Lay MRT everyday after school to check out for new arrivals. Now Leisure store has become a mama shop. Mangas that time was abt $3 or $3.20, those early days when 创艺 was jus an emerging company and mangas do not have book jackets. My 1st 10 vol of 名侦探柯南 was from that time. Its now a freaking 54 vol series and no end in sight yet. After 10 over yrs.

Transitting into my secondaries, I dug thru Roald Dahls (borrowed from I-cant-remember-where again), and Enid Blytons.

With the newly-opened Jurong Point Library as a stopover on my way home, I burrowed the teenage sections for Christopher Pikes, etc. When I was in the craze of playing 金庸群侠传, I practically read thru the whole series of 金庸 novels thru my upper secondaries, from 射雕(full 3 series) to 雪山飞狐. That's partly where my Chinese power came from. (The other part is my mangas)

As I get older, the books I read become thicker. I was eating stuff like Stephen Kings and Agatha Christies in my upper secondaries. My diet included a few movie themed books like Seven, Hackers, as well. Then came John Grishams with all the thick lawyer novels after starting on The Firm (or was it Rainmaker).

I completed the Dan Brown's collection during the hype of the code. N I recently finished Memoirs of a Geisha.

I've got nothing to read now!!

'cept for a few mangas lying ard.

*On the search for 2 SG conspiracy related books which I think were banned in SG. Cant find in Popular nor Kino. Saint_Jack and The_Gift. Anyone saw them anywhere in SG?*

How many books have u read?

The Books of Innocence

One and only

That's my autograph book for my secondary school days.

Bcos everyone was using ready-bought autograph books, I decided to make a unique one for myself. The cartoon on the back cover was compiled from different places and traced into one picture. I spent quite a bit of time drawing the front cover with reference from the comic. He was my favorite character at that time (n still is in my top few manga yandaos list).

Functionality-wise, I could disintegrate the book and distribute the colored papers to different ppl at the same time, so the book wun get stuck at some slow-poke's ass. It was also to prevent the empty pages which happens with bound books when frens flip to any page they like n start scribbling.

I jus flipped thru it. Its damn funny when u start to recollect wat image u were portraying at that time, and the crap that ur frens wrote.

I got questions here.

Why everyone LOVE MY HAIRSTYLE?

I mean, its like, floffy and all, is really a disgrace when I looked at the pictures now. Only perhaps on good (seldom occur) haircut days, I get a decent boyish cut with layers and all.

WHERE GOT NICE??

I feel like puking.

Growl.

And hor... Almost every "letter" I had, there's bound to be either, 帅哥, yandao or cool. And the guys actually put, "I think u will look better with long hair, ur very short hair kinda destroy ur feminine image."

MWAHHAHAHHAHHAHAHHA!!!!!!!!!

Guys.. 帅哥 is not I call myself one. Is the girls call me one.

So 帅?? (puke)

Maybe I'm the minute population of girls with short hair. Its machiam my trademark already. And my "slopecut" which a few like to brush their hands across to get the prickly feel. I can remember only 3 more girls with boyish haircut along the corridor. And that time, butches n lesbians were not that accepted yet. AND I'M OBVIOUSLY NOT ONE!!

Si nangs, my hair is long now, how, feminine already?

And, EVERY LETTER has basketball in it. Ya ya, I'm a 球痴. Basketball good wat, can skip boring physics for competitions.

And my 'O' level results were mainly a coincidence and I dun think I'm hardworking (AHHAAHAHAHHA the 3 teachers that wrote in my autograph book, u were WRONG!!). I'm definite abt it, since I'm distracting myself from my Psycho notes at this moment.

Everyone's writing their likes and dislikes, and a paragraph of comments for some, a photo if they feel like it, and maybe a song lyric. That was the trend at that time.

Jus that some people dun have color sense. Milky pastel peach pen on light backgrounds? I can barely read.

That's my sticker-filled profile page. Yup I still like Steve Kerr, still like Matt Damon, still like Owen, handwriting's still the same messy pattern.

Nothing's changed.

Except perhaps.. my hair?

And since I've already distracted myself, might as well do it somemore. I dug out my primary school autograph book from beneath a stack of exercise books in some ulu cupboard which I seldom open. (The secondary one is on the bookshelf jus next to my table. Very accessible).

I cant remember who some of them were. No photos, no paragraphs of comments. Jus bio-data, a lot of empty pages and A LOT OF FOLDED CORNERS!!! Nothing to write oso mus fold corner n write inside "nothing to write". That seems to be how bo liao we were as kids. (On fold:"Dun open har.." On inside:"Tell u dun open liao") MWAHHAHAHAH.

I suppose this autograph book signing thing is out of trend. With friendster n wat not, it seems like, "Eh write a testi for me lehh" is more commonly used than "Eh, sign my autograph book lehh".

For now, a testimonial for me anyone?

(sidetrack a para: I saw Ms Thng at the wake. Its either she shrunk or I've grown. When is she so short? And so thin? Mother of 2!??!?! Full-time housewife still.. hmm..)

I Ambition-ded

My Ambition

This is a topic ALL school-going kids will have to crack their brains and use their limited vocabulary to write a compo on, in all languages, english, chinese, malay, tamil, etc etc for foreign kids.

Its a compo where teachers will issue to kids out of 1)coursework; 2)curiosity; 3)nothing else creative and lazy to think of others.

And the kids' ambitions?

The usual (maybe bcos they copied from some 10 yrs series):-
Teachers (bcos got "role" model marking these students' papers)
Doctors (bcos they "took away" these students' illness and the misconception that they earn big bucks)
Police (bcos can catch bad guys like wat mama says)
Lawyers ($$$$$$$$$)

Or the extraordinaries (the kana influenced batch):-
Singers (SG Idol, Project Superstar, Campus Superstar, Super Band...)
Astronauts (Some fantasy kid)
Wizard (Harry Potter)
Super Hero (Power Ranger and wat not)
President (Mwahahhahha!!)
Mama/Papa (depends on how the fella write, could be for the hard work put in for the family or could be something as simple as,"I wanna be like Mama can sleep all day and no need go school.")

In those masak-masak days, few will noe the difference btwn an office-slogging executive and a supermarket cashier. So we'll all envision ourselves to be doctors and teachers and will eventually end up doing so in the future.

So where do we end up 10 yrs after writing that little piece of compo? 70% of the kids will evolve into office bees with tags such as marketing coordinator, lab assistants, IT support, business analysts, blah blah blah. 20% will make it to be doctors, police, teachers, firemen, army sign-ons, musicians, etc etc. The remaining 10%.. I dunno.

I wanted to be a fashion designer. When I was very very young, aka in kindergarten times, I used to make "bags" out of envelopes (since my dad works in envelope company, I have rejected envelopes in abundance). Bcos I was the eldest kid ard, no other kids to play with, and for some reason, I enjoyed going school (!!!). Even after school oso masak-masak play school. My "bags" are sturdy. No sewing required! Jus glue and staples and those can hold a few storybooks and have multi-compartments for every need that I imagined. Maybe that constitutes to why I'm super picky over bags.

But I believed I did a compo on being a teacher when I grow up. Either jus so as to "fit in", or that I dunno wat to write abt being a fashion designer. Shall go n dig out my pri sch compos when I'm free.

Anyway, later on in my life, when I was choosing my poly course, I almost/very nearly chose to take fashion design in TP. The only thing that prevented me from choosing TP was the distance. I couldnt visualise myself taking feeder bus to MRT station, taking MRT from one end of Singapore to the other, then taking feeder bus to TP again. Dats like 2 hrs journey, 4 hrs to and fro, EVERYDAY! No WAY!

La-Selle was another option. But it was a misconcepted place for ppl who couldn't get into poly and it was super expensive. The latter was the main reason for not choosing to go there for design.

The other reason for not pursuing design was, Singapore is not conducive for would-be designers (then). Its not a $$-attracting kinda job. Either u make it big, or u end up working in office like other diploma holders. (Ya, I already noe how to think $$-sense then, althou I still ended up choosing marketing (no no its not a mistake!!))

So came and went the 3 yrs in poly, where I build up my hopes of becoming a retail manager/supervisor so that I can run ard Singapore to the retail frontline of the biz (influenced by my Sportslink manager) or work in an advertising company (as do a lot of other marketing students hoped).

But in life, u can only accept wat u're given. I actually do not have much aim when I graduated from SP. I went for a few interviews recruiting for marketing positions. I got one for sales and marketing assistant, which lasted me less than a mth, b4 I escaped from that unreasonable place.

For the next 1 or 2 mths or so, I thot of being a bball coach. But to be a qualified coach, one needs to undergo a course, which totals up to ard $4k. Only then will u be certified and schools will accept ur applications (that's really how "paper-important" the Singapore education system is). Job oso dun have, where got $4k!??!!

Then, I even thot of being part of the police force, preferably in CID. But I fear the rigorous trainings in the academy to build up the finesse for chasing after criminals. I hate running get it! I smoked thru my bball trainings ALL THE TIME! I'm pretty regretting my decision after watching 迷云二十天 and now the 至尊红颜 where Felicia Chin is a CID. So fun one meh?? So cool!?!??!?! I wan I wan!!~

Instead, I'm stuck in a cubicle, in a "historical" building (to be renovated soon but I dun wanna move to 2nd floor!!), doing boring accounts (not my forte!), hunting for mysterious cancellations which the related ppl are not replying my instant messages and people are directing me all over (if i have the bloody access to find it in SAP, u think i so free to wait for ur reply?), getting thrown shit every now and then, backup-ing people when they're going on holiday which means I learn more things n become multi-purposed and automatically became those ppl's backups, defending against gunfire from Customs, etc etc etc...

Note to kids: The compos u once wrote will hold no meaning if u dun work towards it. And if u wanna be a pilot, WATCH LESS TVs! (Maybe kids now write they wanna be Bill Gates or some fella who's in the media)

*Sigh* I could have had a brand of my own if I had ventured into fashion design.

23 Yrs Back (Recollection Part 1)

From the corner of my eye, I spotted my photo album. Flipping it open, memories flood back to me...

Yah, like real. Its not me to write in those can-publish-in-newspaper kinda floppy sentimental stuff (Actually, its more like its not gonna be interesting going that direction lah).

So, I've scanned some pictures. Pls dun pinch the monitor screen involuntarily, and pls close the window if u're feeling ur breakfast/lunch/dinner/supper up ur throat.

Its gonna start...

Ready?

Here goes..

When I was newly born (1 or 2 mths i think), dreaming of boxing someone..

More than 6 mths old, wondering y the rolly polly doesnt fall..

Learning how to walk..

I look so stunned!

Couple of containers which kept me occupied for a while..

Engrossed..

Told ya I started young..

I looked like a boy here..

The cheong sum series..

Full length skirt..

I actually had the skirt & pants version!

In kindergarten already..

hmm..

Finally dats me & my bro~

Ok dats it! To Be Continued...

Gaming Memories

I'm playing this (Classic 80s Games) at the moment. Yes, in office. While waiting for reports to run (No, dats an excuse. The report is already generated. Hahha)

I realised I suck at Pac-man. Really! I got KO twice within the 1st map and the 2nd map was the furthest i went. Stupid ghosts.

Then I tried Frogger. I nvr knew that I had to land the frogs onto the black area at the last lane until quite a few frogs sacrificed. Yeahh I'm so noob. And to think that I've been whacking the keyboards since... P2? No more like since I was a milk-gurgling toddler. I remember I had a photo. I shall dig that out!

The old DOS kinda display with c:\, dir, blah blah blah kinda commands (I used to be GOOD at these) had all been replaced by the mouse and Windows/Mac/Linux running in trillions of colors. Click click click and u get ur info. There's no internet, no MSN/ICQ, no disturbances. Switch on and u r in the game protecting the world from aliens with minimal sound effects from the PC speaker (not even an external speaker). Diudiu! *shoots gun*

I remembered one of the 1st games I got hooked on was Commander Keen (Already in 64 or 256 color monitors). Cant really remember how the game goes but I remembered jumping here there and killing stuff. Maybe I shld surf the web for downloadable (and playable) versions of that game. Then it was Duke Nukem with his powerful machines guns avoiding laser beams. I recalled there's a game called Zool (or Zoul?). *thinks for a while* Shit! I really shld do a Google on all these. Cant freaking remember.

The very 1st 3d game I actually dared to play was Wolfenstein 3d (I get giddy with these u see). This I remember, walking ard maps, killing soldiers, finding keys, getting the correct keys to fit, open secret doors, blah blah blah. Slowly I upgraded to Doom and getting frightened outta my seats from monsters jumping at ur screen. There's another magician 3d game which I cant recall the name. Anyone can help?

There was a period of time where fighting games were the trend. When I was in P6 I guess. I remembered scratching my BCG while playing 三国志 (that explains the scar. Too engrossed in the game).

Another classic I loved was 金庸群侠传. Spent hrs training the skills and running errands for the characters to get the 武林秘集s. Meeting monsters along the way is strictly by chance. Since its an old RPG game, u cant even see any monsters approaching. They'll switch the screen into combat mode and there u see ur monster. Have to collect all the books that 金庸 wrote and solo the 10 good/bad (depends on the things that u did, helping ppl or stealing from empty huts) characters. I actually played it more than once (& wanted to play it again recently but the game is already obsolete on my pc, cant run).

While others are mugging for their Os, I was at home putting more hrs with my 小鱼儿 than on my books. The 3rd ep of the series cheated my $$. Couldnt play it due to some unknown error which came out in symbols that I cant decipher. Hello, my brain processing language is in words, not symbols.

As my computers were upgraded, I spent $$ on more demanding games. I played 风云 for a while, with slightly lagging speed when a super power skill is used. I even had the original NBA for quite a few yrs running. That was the Steve Kerr/Bulls to Steve Kerr/Spurs era. No more Steve Kerr now, no more crazily continuous 3 pointers (Ya I know there's Reggie, Brent, etc etc, but Kerr is easier to control!).

I almost forgot all abt The Sims. I love the building house part, decorating the interior (uses cheat code most often than not), planning the tasks for the Sim, finding job for them, etc etc. But I jus cant get them to be very satisfied or watever. Now the new Sims, THEY DIE!! [-_-"] I've stopped playing them, very complex now. Can go town and chiong and still have to balance ur needs and $$.

My desktop had been dismantled now. All left was the keyboard and mouse with the monitor in my bro's room (I dunno WTF he needs 2 monitors on 1 cpu for), the cpu with the comp outside, RAM here, HDD there, EVERYWHERE.

Gaming on my T42-KA4. I got bored of NBA 2005 after Parker/Bowen/Ginobili stealing like crazy and running lightning speed fast breaks. I tried the expert mode(or watever u call that version). Same thing, just that the opponents lost marginally and not suffering from a thrashing. Hooked on MapleStory for like dunno how many mths/yrs. Stupid bandit lvl so slow. Maybe I shld try playing it Commander Keen style, no other players, no disturbances. Treat them INVISIBLE! Ahhahahha.

SHIT I HAVE A CRAVING FOR COMMANDER KEEN NOW!!~~

小时候 by 南拳妈妈

When i was a baby, all that i know was all that i could see,
Attention span was only 30min-2hrs before getting drowsy,
Couldn't remember any dreams, or whether did i dream.
Baby life is boring, scream to get a kick outta it,
And people would start frustrating after efforts of coo-ing me,
But dats the purest time i had, eat, sleep, scream.

When i was an infant, I'll roll ard on the bed,
One bad judgement on the edge n i could be dead,
Food now comes in a wider range, but things din really change.
I still get carried, disturbed, n screams for fun,
Slowly i start to sit, stand, walk n run,
N imitated watever those adults want me to say under the sun.

When i was a toddler, pens n paper were introduced to me,
N there on the floor i'll sprawl, imaginations i'll draw.
Nursery was optional, n i had the benefit of not going,
But being the only kid at home, i'll stick to my grandmother.
Parents were at work whole day, n i'll be playing whole day,
Homework?? NONE!! go kindergarten oso play masak.

When i was 6, i had the option to choose my own school,
Still young, i avoided the one which became a value added school,
And entered one which closed down years ago.
Kids were crying on the 1st day but not me,
Dun understand y but for me, i'm used to it,
Textbks were boring but i stuck to it.

When i was 12, i had to face the fearful BCG n PSLE,
All those were rumours, which passed with ease,
Thru the primary school days, punishment was kept at bay.
Frens were made, frens were split, n my auntie oso came to visit,
Then came the day where we finally had to separate,
With tears we stepped into our unknown fate.

When i was 13, i got into Jurong Sec where things get harder,
My masak were all kept n replacing them, textbooks which get thicker.
Frenship were a bit more complicated, no more i dun fren you sentences,
But luckily, i was blessed with fantastic frenships.
Without them i dun think i'll be wat i m,
So i thank them with all i can, even thou they're not here.

When i was 14, i played my 1st bball tournament,
After training for 1 yr, running, dribbling, watever,
Court time was ok but the medal was still out of range.
In class i slept uncontrollably, fortunately a pass i still managed,
My lyrics writing started then, together with my short hair,
where i'll copy song lyrics wit my seatmate.

When i was 16, the dreaded big O came,
So in mac i would be, cramming wit my buddies for days on the end.
The arcade n bowling alley were jus behind,
N most of the time that's where i hide, with my buddies still inside.
I wondered how i did it but i did,
10, 13pts i received, wit a bball national 4th in sec 3.

When i was turning 17, i had to choose my destiny,
Splitting my head over poly or JC, I ended forgoing JC,
Just to be with my frens, i chose SP, without any aspiration, i got into mktg.
Then came lectures, tutorials, berms n huge tees, n new frens,
Occasionally with flip flops when i feel rebellious n sloppy,
Wardrobes gets packed with tees, jeans n some presentation shirts.

When i was 17, i had my 1st presentation in shirt n skirt,
Had to introduce our new product, which i made the prototype overnight,
Nervousness was inevitable, n i jittered my words out.
Still it was ok, n we got an A, but now as i look at it, it looks crap,
Groupmates were people who came from ard Singapore,
Frenly they were, who had different kinds of flaws.

When i was 18, i was already used to presenting,
They always noe i had something up my sleeves, be it a blotch-up or purposely,
I made them laff most of the time i'm up.
Being hooked on bball, i continued representing,
Trainings were not as tough, but i was still present for most of the trainings,
Just that the biased coach doesnt see my efforts, playing time keeps decreasing.

When i was 19, i had to present in front of outside clients,
The project lasted a yr fun but tough, n best thing it got a distinction,
Guts were built n i had to present in front of a lecture hall of juniors n clients.
Was thrown the capt post but its really shitty work,
Players, being gers, quarrel over the tiniest matter n i had to solve,
N in the end wat i got was less than 20 min thru'out IVP, contradicting.

When i was 20, i suddenly ended up without a motive,
Idolisation was addictive which caught up with me.
Guy classmates went NS, while the rest either work or study,
I slacked ard, got nagged, switched jobs and finally settled down.
With the salary i nvr saved, useless possessions keeping piling my place,
I knew i had to do something and slow down my pace.

Now i'm going 22, bones always seem like breaking,
Months followed days, work, eat, sleep, repeating.
Frens were left with those who really noe me well,
In front of whom i'll reveal my inner self.
Office work is BORING but the ppl were ok,
Jus waiting in anticipation of bonus at the end of the yr.

Next up, will life be the same??
Being easily detered, wld i get wat i want?
Having high expectations of myself, wld i persevere my dream?
Will i still be an unrecognised penner??
Will i be who i want??
Who will be THE ONE??

WHO NOES MAN... i dun..

Frostbite by MLTR

hmm.. since i'm supposed to be slacking~~ *grinz* not much to do other than reconciling the whole mth's permits for customs.. lemme crap abt my 6 mths sales asst stint way back in.. 1999...

got recruited by Sportslink after we (bird & me) went for an interview at the JP Sportslink right after our O levels.. we're posted to different areas but they're jus a dept in those time still existing Oriental dept store.. me at tiong bahru n bird at bukit merah.. went for a one day course conducted by Oriental ppl.. tokking abt sales ettiquette n crap.. forgot all but only noe its quite useless..

anyways i was interning under 2 guys who were out on smoking breaks most of the time n came back smelling of cigerettes.. bird dat time.. hmm.. i forgot already.. think she was under someone who was quitting soon.. well.. life at oriental starts at 9 am.. (if i rem correctly..) n ends at ard 10+pm.. we have shift work.. so the morning shift starts ard 9-6.. the afternoon shift starts at 1-10 something like dat.. i totally forgot.. then there's only 2 ppl for one dept.. which means.. if its one guy's off day.. its a full shift for the other person..

learnt quite a lot of things from the 2 guys whom i forgot their name, sometimes from customers oso.. it was ard xmas time when i was at TB.. so its darn packed sometimes.. all we had to do was to help customers wit their needs n issue receipts if they wanna buy.. sometimes customers can jus take the receipt n stuff.. walk elsewhere n dump it there after considering not to buy.. so its irritating at times to have calculated the sales for a period then find an abandoned product lying somewhere.. oh yeah we gotta get back the cashier's receipt as proof of payment n we gotta staple on the carbon copy of the receipt we issued.. sold a record of 7.. or was it 9 pairs of shoes in a day at TB during xmas eve i think.. a few pairs were those sch shoes so i din really take note.. sales dat day was damn high!~ think it went ard 3k-4k.. cust were jus flocking in n out n even the 2 guys took shorter breaks when they see me.. the newbie struggling wit the amt of ppl..

was at TB for like 2 mths b4 i got transferred to Bukit Merah to work wit bird as she's alone there~~ mwehehehhe.. the aunties were great there.. althou talkative lah.. then as usual.. the supervisors r the grouchy kind.. n we super hate the mgmt guy of oriental.. ahhahha.. sucky~ rem there was once we got fed up wit not being able to find the things we were looking for.. we REARRANGED THE STOCK.. its like.. a lot.. behind the display shelves, in the storeroom, under the condolas.. n made a list of the shoes dat were available for ez reference.. took us a few days to do it.. n the new stocks jus keep arriving.. made the place darn dusty.. n the storeroom which is already very cramped.. imagine 2 of us inside is.. argh.. other than fooling ard wit the new stocks, arranging, tying up the store stock, tagging the new stock.. we oso sometimes venture over to the toys dept n play wit the toys there when its not peak hr.. if not we'll be listening to the aunties gossiping.. sometimes when i'm working the morning shift.. i'll stay late if there's a lot of new stock n help bird out noeing dat she cant cope~ all w/o OT pay.. its done wit passion for the job.. i dun care abt OT at dat age..

being newbies, we din noe abt any rules n such.. so.. we decided to redraw the price posters, which got the oriental mgmt guy hopping mad bcos he wants standardization.. n threw a temper at the supervisor who treats us very good.. feeling guilty man.. budden... no one told us mah... well.. case's jus resolved wit a scolding.. n rewriting of the posters.. blahh..

oh yeah.. jus rem a serious case... there was once a temp from somewhere who came over to intern wit me when bird was off.. as i was doing morning shift.. i knocked off b4 she does.. then dat nite nearing my bedtime.. i got a call from.. THE POLICE!! they say the ger's involved in a shop theft case.. needs my assistance.. freaked me half to death man.. the police said they'll be coming over in a while so i was like... waiting nervously.. wondering wat its gotta do wit me.. when they arrived, they told me the whole story.. stating dat the SO of Oriental discovered her leaving the shop wit a new shoes on her feet n her normal shoes in her bag.. then they asked me if i noticed anything suspicious in her bag anot.. i was like... huh i dunno leh.. then blah blah blah.. i dunno wat happened after dat.. think it was jus a misunderstanding as our area manager (jasmen)oso nvr briefed us anything.. budden i nvr see her after dat incident..

few mths after dat.. i got posted to holland v.. by dat time i was already considered a veteran.. mweheheheh.. n holland v only had one person there who was leaving soon.. HV's a smaller area than BM.. its jus the end corner of the store.. n the place where we keep the stock behind the display cabinets, we could look out at holland rd n see cars driving past.. ahahha.. mostly ang mo or foreign customers at HV whereas its more of aunties n kids who came to buy swimwear n accessories at BM.. the HV Oriental's also much smaller.. = less things to play.. rem times when we gotta hang those price banners from the ceiling, we gotta climb up n down n push the dusty ceiling board to get the *daogeh* over.. theres' a malay butch SO working there who rides a bike to work.. n always using the mirror to see if there's any moustache growth.. ahhahha.. the aunties there took great care of me n often ask me if i went makan liao anot.. ahhaha.. everyone's scared dat i'll die of hunger.. sometimes when they're bored.. they'll come over n gossip.. n when the manager passes by.. geh siao fold clothes.. wahhahha

some reg customers dat we've noticed.. actually i only rem one.. tis guy's from special ops.. n he always wear the special ops singlet.. comes practically everyday.. n jus looks ard until one day he finally bought some kettler equipments... then there was one time when i was alone at BM.. there's tis guy who came over n say wanna make fren wit me.. dat time.. being only 16! i freaked out man.. n said no.. ran away.. mwahahhaha.. then found the company of one of the aunties.. kekekkeke.. anyway the guy went over to another section n kept looking in my dept's direction.. i was thinking.. OMG.. some pervert.. wahhahha..

all in all.. working in the svc line is fun.. but tiring.. gotta tolerate the long hrs of standing.. learnt a lot of things there.. esp abt shoes.. rem there was once jasmen came over n i was serving a customer.. he actually helped me out n taught me abt how to understand customer's needs.. i oso learnt abt the main difference btwn shoes n their purpose.. the way it protects ur feet, the goggles difference..etc etc.. get to meet a lot of weird ppl.. but mainly.. how to crap i guess.. ahhahhaa.. n jasmen was actually the one who influenced me to take up marketing in poly.. wanted to go JC initially.. but ended up in poly after a word from mum.. n stared at the list of courses during the enrolment time thinking of wat course take.. then finally.. HECK LAH.. jus whack marketing on the 1st choice.. the rest.. anyhow write.. wanted to take design at temasek but its darn bloody far.. n since emily bird n grace were at SP.. i die die oso wana go SP lo.. so my choices were like.. 11 SP courses n 1 at NP.. still rem marketing was 1st choice.. then wit an multimedia course at NP.. then its IT at SP.. n the rest whack all over.. hahhhahah..

kkz enuff crap.. approaching lunch time.. yawnz..
